This morning transfer for a five hour drive to Ba Be Lake National Park. On the way stop at the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups of Thai Nguyen (Note: closed on Mondays and open from 11:30 to 13:30). Built in 1960, the function and task of the museum was originally to study and share the culture and history of ethnic groups based in the northern area during the Indochina War. Nowadays the museum is gathering an interesting selection of exhibits representing the culture of major hill tribes living in Vietnam and has become a museum specialized in national culture.

Arrive in the afternoon then check into the hotel.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Ba Be.

Following breakfast, depart at 09:00 for a short drive or walk to Ba Be Lake pier where the private boat will be waiting. Head to An Ma temple and walk up to the top of the islet to enjoy a nice point of view on the Lake. Continue the cruise up to the North of the Lake then explore the west side of the Nang River up to a small village on the bank of River. Enjoy then a nice walk in the forest to reach Dau Dang Waterfall. Here there are a series of spectacular cascading falls between sheer walls of rock.

Return to the village then take a rest in a basic house.

In the afternoon, continue to transfer to Hua Ma Cave, featuring thousands of stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes. Take a leisurely walk into the cave to discover the best scenery of nature, return to the hotel in the mid afternoon.

Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Overnight in Ba Be.

Relax in the cool atmosphere before driving back to Hanoi stopping on the way either to visit Cho Da market (which runs on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th & 30th days of the lunar calendar) or to take pictures and to admire the scenery. Arrive in Hanoi in the afternoon.

Note: Ba Be is located in a remote area of Vietnam therefore the accommodation is basic.
